A teaching experience in the industrial acoustics integrating pedagogy of cooperation, computer laboratory and session project

This article explains how three non-conventional pedagogical strategies have been integrated into the Industrial Acoustics course for bachelor students in Mechanical Engineering at E´cole de technologie supe´rieure: (i) Active pedagogy through cooperative learning (ii) Intensive use of computer technology through tutorial periods and exams in a computer laboratory environment, and (iii) Team-based term project involving noise source diagnostic, design and production of a quieter prototype for an electrical tool or household appliance.
