The control of a biotrickling filter

Emissions from composting plants must be reduced with high efficiencies by means of closed systems and treatment of ventilation air. Biofilters are used for air treatment, however these systems have several disadvantages, e.g. large required filter mols. and low controllability. A promising new technol. is bio-trickling filtration. From Jan. 1994 to Aug. 1994 a pilot test with a air-trickling filter (supplied by Clair-Tech) will be preformed at a composting plant. DHV will perform the project management, the coordination of the test and the odor measurements, while the Tech. University of Eindhoven will give scientific support. The test is partly financed by a governmental organization. [on SciFinder (R)]
