Force-adjustable mechanical actuator and its control algorithms

Active vibration attenuation is a new technique developing on ship vibration control. A new force-adjustable mechanical actuator has been devised and applied to active ship vibration attenuation. The basic principle and structure of this mechanical actuator are introduced. Then two kinds of algorithms,a phase adjusting analytic algorithm and dynamic compensating self-optimizing algorithm are proposed to calculate the optimal phase and eccentric distance of the mechanical actuator. The results of active ships vibration attenuation simulation tests using the two algorithms to control mechanical actuator proved they were feasible and practical. There was a well controlled effect for the mechanical actuator to reduce ship vibration.
