NOISE AND VIBRATION REDUCTION OF NEWLY DEVELOPED 3.01 DIRECT INJECTION DIESEL ENGINE.

Abstract To meet severe emission controls and achieve low fuel consumption and high power, we have developed the 1KD-FTV engine, which is a new 3.0 l direct injection diesel engine with common-rail system and variable nozzle turbocharger. Direct injection engines are generally noisier than in direct injection engines. To reduce noise and vibration of 1KD-FTV, we devised countermeasures such as high stiffness power plant structure and pilot injection optimization.
