National Defense Stockpile Program. Phase 1. Development and Analyses

Abstract : Since June 1988, the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) has been assisting the Department of Defense in developing a systematic process to estimate U.S. stockpile requirements for strategic and critical materials. This report documents the work the IDA team has accomplished during Phase I of this effort, describes the principal results and uses of the analyses, and defines the scope of IDA's current initiatives and proposed efforts to strengthen this process in the coming year.
