Judging from the fact, it is highly probable that Circular store hole is an attached facility of residential area. Circular store hole is easily found around the residential area of the Baekje era. This paper intends to examine the structure of Circular store hole, and classify Circular store hole s on the basis of type, and set up the chronicle on the basis of relation between Circular store hole and accompanying relics. Moreover, use and characteristics of Circular store hole were also examined. Research area was the area around Hangang (River) and Geumgang (River). And research was conducted focusing on the period between 3rd century and 6th century - from the end of Proto-Three Kingdoms Period to the Baekje era-during which Circular store hole began to appear. Circular store hole s are classified into 7 types according to the preservation status: Type 1 "Flask Type"; Type 2 "Outward Protrusion Type"; Type 3 "Valgus-Varus Type"; Type 4 "Varus-Valgus Type"; Type 5 "Linking Type"; Type 6 "Pillar Hole Type"; Type 7 "Protruded Rectangle Type." Changes of Circular store hole was divided into three stages through examination on accompanying relics. The 1st step is the emergence period of Circular store hole from the Proto-Three Kingdoms Period to the early days of the Baekje era, that is, the mid- and late2-3rd century. The 2nd step is the expansion period of Circular store hole, and relics of Circular store hole are found in the area around Hangang (River) and Geumgang (River), and Circular store hole is presumed to be used as storage facility or other facilities. The 2nd step occurred during the period from the 4th century to the mid-5th century. The 3rd step is the maintenance period of the 6th century, and relics of Ungjin and Sabi periods are found in connection with this step. use of Circular store hole was examined. In result, Circular store hole was used for storage, residence, animal breeding, trap, holding criminals, and excretion.
