Conclusions of analysis of full depth asphalt pavements tested during recent Mulgrave ALF trial

The aim of the most recently-completed Accelerated Loading Facility (ALF) trial conducted in Australia between November 1989 and March 1991 was to improve the methods for predicting the fatigue life of bound materials by determining the fatigue characteristics of asphalt and cement-treated crushed rock in situ, and to compare the field behaviour with predictions based on field performance. The trial was proposed by VIC ROADS, the Victorian State Road Authority, and carried out as a joint program with the Australian Road Research Board (ARRB).
