Measurement of the spectral efficiency of energy dispersive Si(Li) detectors below 5 keV photon energy using BESSY as a standard source

Abstract A method is presented for the measurement of the spectral efficiency of a Si(Li) detector in the spectral range below 5 keV using BESSY as a standard radiation source of extremely low photon flux (1 photon (eV s) −1 and below). The detector was irradiated with white synchrotron radiation when the storage ring was running with about 10 electrons stored. Good agreement was found between the spectral efficiency measured and the one calculated using a simple model.
