Cassava β-glucosidase electrode prepared with photocrosslinkable prepolymer resins

An enzyme electrode was constructed using cassava leaf β-glucosidase immobilized in ENT-4000, a photocrosslinkable prepolymer resin. The enzyme electrode response was Nernstian at pH 9.5 for a linamarin range of 10 -2 to 10 -4 M. The potentiometeric reading reached a steady-state level after 6 min with a sample volume of 100 μl. The enzyme films could be reused after removal of the substrate and the products formed. Enzyme films have been kept in buffer at 4 o C without any significant loss of enzyme activity for up to 2 years
