Functional endoscopic sinus surgery is a minimally invasive procedure done to restore the natural mucocilliary clearance mechanism, drainage and aeration of the sinuses while maintaining the normal anatomy as much as possible. Major complications like optic nerve damage, damage to dura, cerebrospinal rhinorrhea, meningitis and even death has been reported for functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) under general anesthesia as well as local anesthesia. This results from impaired visibility due to excessive bleeding during surgery (1) . These threats of serious complications from poor visibility due to excessive bleeding in the surgical field and the increased chances of neurological damage makes it important for the anaesthesiologists to produce optimal surgical conditions (2) .
