Data gathering mechanism of mobile data collector in wireless sensor network

Data gathering is the main goal of using wireless sensor networks. In a sensor most of the energy is spent during sensing and transmitting the data to the sink. Data gathering can be efficiently done by a mobile data collector for large wireless sensor networks which have a powerful transceiver and battery. Mobile data collector collect data while moving through its transmission field. A mobile data collector begins its data collecting trip from the data sink on receiving the beacon signal from the clustered head, in its transmission range, then directly collects data from the clustered head and finally carry the data to the sink. Cluster head is a sensor which acts for data aggregation from other sensors in its cluster. By this method life time of a sensor can be prolonged as it is a reactive method.
