A novel predictive direct power control

In this paper a recently introduced predictive direct power control (P-DPC) method for three-phase power rectifiers is improved by using a more accurate mathematical model. In general P-DPC is a parameter dependent approach and inaccuracies in mathematical model, wrong estimation of the inductor or even filtering the feedback signals may result in unstable circuit conditions, high THD values, circuit noise, and power loss. In this paper a more accurate mathematical model is presented to improve operation of the circuit. Detailed simulation results are presented for the proposed predictive direct power control approach to show its viability, speed and accuracy under steady-state and transient operating conditions.
