The benzylidenefluorene dianion

The interaction of benzylidenefluorene with alkali metals in THF solutions results in the formation of the benzylidenefluorene dianion or the 1,2-bis(9-fluorenyl)-1,2-diphenylethane dianion depending on the nature of the alkali metal.
