Geometrical Nonlinear Analysis under Live Load for Super Long Span Cable-stayed Bridges

As cable-stayed bridge span increases,the effect of the geometrical nonlinearity becomes even more significant.Based on linearity,deflection and nonlinearity theory,live load response is analyzed for Sutong Bridge whose main span reaches 1 088m.It is concluded that deflection theory(i.e.equivalent modulus of elasticity of cable stays and geometrical matrix of deadload state are taken into account)can satisfy the engineering requirement even for the highway bridges with main span exceeding(1 000m).
