A NONLINEAR SIMULATION METHOD FOR VERTICAL MOTIONS OF SURFACE EFFECT SHIPS

In this paper, the authors extend their previously developed time-domain numerical simulation method so that it can simulate the vertical motions of a surface effect ships by taking into account the added mass of the bow and stern seals and the air chamber pressure, taking into consideration their fluctuations. To verify the method, the authors compare the computed results with the experimental results of a 3m self-propelled ship model.
