An Enhanced Prediction-Based Link Availability Estimation for MANETs

In this letter, an enhancement to the prediction-based link availability estimation originally proposed by the author, D. J. He, and J. Q. Rao is discussed. This enhancement consists of the principle for the theoretical calculation of link availability, L(T/sub p/), and a better L(T/sub p/) estimation that averts the intuitive parameter setting used by the original one. Numerical comparisons between results given by the two estimations and simulation are provided.
