An Introduction and Comparison of the Application of Cloud and Fog in IoT

This paper mainly introduces the definitions of cloud computing and fog computing, and expounds their differences. Firstly, the new problems encountered by the Internet of Things (IoTs) are put forward. It also points out the shortcomings of cloud computing in solving these problems. Then it explains the advantages of fog computing over cloud computing in solving these problems, and finally introduces the new challenges fog computing encounters.
