Concepts and Applications of Computerized Associative Processing, Including an Associative Processing Bibliography,

Abstract : Associative Processing is defined by the report as any computerized parallel-by-word search technique which is used for data retrieval or processing. The basic concepts of this technique are defined and illustrative examples given. In addition, some future applications are listed in an attempt to stimulate consideration of this technique as a solution to the processing time problems being encountered more and more in the manipulation of large data bases. A bibliography of books, articles, technical reports, and theses on the subject of Associative Processing is appended. The entries cover the period from February 1970 back to the publication of Vennever Bush's famous article in the Atlantic Monthly in 1945. (Author)
