This issue starts with using deep Fourier neural networks to model Time Series by Michael S Gashler. Hee-Jun Kang et al. then proposed to use neural network-based techniques to achieve adaptive tracking control of mobile robots against wheel slip and external disturbance force. Inspired by the immune algorithm, Abir Hussain et al. focus on predicting financial time series using regularized dynamic self-organized neural network. By adopting an asymmetric neighborhood function, Takashi Kuremoto et al. present a hand shape instruction recognition and learning system based on growing SOM. The paper by Paul Fegus deals with the important problem of detecting preterm births using advanced artificial neural networks. This section ends with the interesting article by Yunlan Tan which addresses the automatic aesthetical evaluation of photos quality by combining artificial neural network and autoencoder.
