Protective arrangement on a wheel housing of a motor vehicle shell structure

The invention relates to a protective arrangement on a wheel housing of a motor vehicle shell structure, having a crumple zone, in particular a front crumple zone, in which two longitudinal members extend in the vehicle longitudinal direction and along the inner side of the associated lateral wheel housing; with a wheel which is held in place by wheel guide members inside the associated wheel housing; limited by an end wall facing away from the wheel arch on its side of the crumple zone to the vehicle compartment; and with means for protecting against excessive instrusion the end wall by the event of a crash against the front wall moving wheel, wherein the protective means between the rolling circumference of the wheel and the end wall are arranged. As a means for protecting the front wall against excessive intrusion a tension strut is secured to a fixing portion on the associated longitudinal carrier, which has a lateral catch portion which projects laterally and transversely to the longitudinal support to the outside.
