Multiple straight-line least-squares analysis with uncertainties in all variables

Abstract A simple iterative method is described for fitting experimental data with uncertainties in all variables to straight-line models. The optimization algorithm does not require starting parameter guesses. The solution provides the “true” least-squares estimates of parameters and a complete variance-covariance matrix.
