Design and DSP Software Implementation of Mobile WiMAX Baseband Transceiver Functions

This paper considers the orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) physical layer of the IEEE 802.16e standard. We discuss the design of some key baseband signal processing functions, including synchronization, channel estimation, and forward-errorcorrection (FEC) decoding. Further, we describe a fully software implementation of these functions employing Texas Instruments' digital signal processors (DSPs).
