These studies can be splitin functional connectivity or statistical relations betweenregions of the brain and effective connectivity, which looksfor causal dependencies. “DeustoTech Brain ConnectivityMethods” consist of a MATLAB based toolbox whichprovides a whole framework for exploring a set ofmathematical methods imported from other fields for beingapplied in brain connectivity. This software integratesfunctions and atlas regions for extracting BOLD signalsfrom fMRI images and band-pass filtering options forremoving artifacts. The methods for connectivity analysisthis toolbox works with, are basically divided into twogroups: phase synchronization and effective connectivitymethods. Along with the visualization options it offers, thistoolbox is a great starting point for those who want to learnmore about the newest applications of signal processing inneuroscience.
