History of citation indexes for chemistry: a brief review

Le «Science Citation Index» fut le premier index exhaustif de ce type en chimie. Toutefois, bien qu'il couvrit l'ensemble de la litterature secondaire du domaine, son utilisation n'etait pas toujours evidente. De plus, les champs traditionnels de l'indexation en chimie ne sont pas toujours operationnels. Il reste possible d'utiliser les co-citations pour etablir des classifications hierarchisees automatiquement et concevoir des cartes de la litterature parue
