Fuzzy Logic Self-Tuning PID Control for Superheated Steam Temperature System

Based on the intelligence of fuzzy logic and the simplicity and practicality of PID control, this paper puts forward an intelligent fuzzy self-tuning PID control strategy. The parameters of PID controller are divided into primary tuning and fine tuning. The primary tuning is based on the generating unit load, it can adapt the great range changing of operating point. In order to adapt the small range changing of operating point and overcome all kinds of disturbances, the fine tuning is based on performance index of the system. Simulation for a steam temperature system with severe parameter uncertainty, multiple disturbance and large time delay is carried out. Simulation results demonstrate that it can adapt the large changing of dynamic model, a good robust regulating performance is obtained.
