Flux focusing permanent magnet synchronous machine modeling by 2D Magnetic Equivalent Circuit

This paper presents a generic Magnetic Equivalent Circuit model applied to a flux focusing permanent magnet synchronous machine. The proposed model is based on a 2D reluctance mesh, where the circumferential reluctances number can be modified automatically. So, the designer can choose to increase precision or decrease time process of the model. Saturation effect and rotor motion are taken into account. Torque is estimated by Maxwell Stress Tensor. The time process and precision of the model are compared to corresponding performance of finite element method.
