Constitutive Relations of a Cracked Composite Lamina

An approximate elasticity theory solution is given for the stress-strain relations of a cracked composite lamina. These relations are written in the familiar form of two- dimensional compliances appropriate for use with laminated plate theory, and include the effects of non-mechanical strains. It is shown explicitly that the cracked lamina com pliances depend upon the overall laminate construction in which the lamina is contained.
