Accurate phasor estimation during power swing

In a power system network, the detection of fault during power oscillation is one of the major issues of concern. The behavior of voltages and currents in a fault is same during a power swing. A Power Swing Blocking technology by using phasor analysis can be used to differentiate between a fault and power swing. By using this technique, the detection of fault is possible during power swing whether it is symmetrical or asymmetrical fault. Here, in 2 bus system, the fault with different fault resistances are simulated through PSCAD Software to test this technology. The proposed method is very fast and accurate.
