Ecocounseling Psychology

A case is made for counseling psychologists to become involved in efforts to alter the trajectories of a number of disturbing human-produced ecological threats (i.e., deforestation, global warming, ozone depletion, etc.). Some reservations that counseling psychologists might have about becoming involved in ecocounseling psychology efforts are then addressed. Finally, the training, expertise, and professional values that counseling psychologists bring to the discussion of the fate of our natural environment are elaborated.
