Mechanical actions of individual muscles at the human elbow joint and their roles in protecting/unloading the ulnar collateral ligament

Study of individual elbow muscles' mechanical actions is important in understanding the muscles' fundamental roles in performing various motor tasks. It also helps us gain insights into the compensatory mechanisms for elbow injuries like the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injury, which is a common sports-related injury. The mechanical actions of individual elbow muscles and their roles in loading/unloading the UCL were studied through in vivo experiments.
