Disturbance sensitivity reduction via velocity loop feedback

Abstract This article discusses an approach for reducing a systems sensitivity to external disturbances. Relationships developed relating the process variable output to external disturbance inputs suggest that employing velocity feedback can greatly reduce the influence external disturbances imposed on the closed loop performance. A recent design example is provided illustrating this practical design philosophy.
