The Muntz-Szatz demand system: An application of a globally well behaved series expansion

Abstract The Muntz-Szatz theorem in mathematics is shown to provide a class of series approximations to monotonically increasing, strictly concave functions. The approximating function at any order of approximation can itself be kept globally increasing and strictly concave.
