Phase-locked battery charge system

In this paper, a phase-locked battery charge system (PLBCS) is proposed. The circuit topology of the proposed PLBCS is same as that of the phase-locked loop (PLL), which means that the proposed PLBCS can have lots of inherently abilities as PLLs have, such as auto-tracking, auto-locking, and high accuracy. A complete charging process, consisting of three sub-processes, can be easily and automatically implemented using these inherent characteristics of the proposed PLBCS. The mathematical model of the PLBCS is also presented to analyze the PLBCS's stability and safe charging condition for determining suitable variable values. A prototype of PLBCS is designed and built to assess the PLBCS's performance. Experimental results show that the proposed PLBCS provides a better charge current and gains safe charge condition as we analyzed.
