XML-based middle data denotation and analysis in physical design

With the development of IC design technology, the characteristics of hierarchical design, multilevel design and multi-target design have been taken on so that the physical design process becomes more and more complex. And the data format standards alter so quickly that interface operations get more and more complex. In this paper, we propose an XML-based middle data source that is extensible and flexible and universal to cut down the complexity of interaction among file formats greatly. And the problems in version control and denotation of incremental data and the like are discussed in detail in this paper.
