Presentation of a new method to measure the friction coefficient using an electromagnetic digital device

Abstract In this article, a new method to measure the friction coefficient based on an electromagnetic digital device is presented. First of all, the principle and a modelling of this device are detailed. Using this modelling, an experimental prototype has been designed, manufactured, and tested. Next, the principle of the micro-tribometer based on this one is described. Finally, the method to determine the friction coefficient value from experimental measurements is presented, and the sensitivity of the micro-tribometer is studied.
