Computer Aided Design for Different Drill Geometries by the Quadratic Surface Model

A quadratic surface model for the twist drill point geometry is made in order that the highspeed digital interactive graphics computer can be used as an aid in the design of a drill. Each surface of the drill has been quadratic standardized so that we can design a flank shape either of ellipsoid, hyperboloid, cone, cylinder, or any combination of them. Using this design method, we also have the ability to design a multifacet drill, chip breaker, web thinning drill, or split point drill.
