Swarm Intelligence Based Optimization in WSN: A Review

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are usually deployed for gathering data from hostile environment. Various is sues in WSNs are formulated as multidimensional optimization problems, and approached through bio-inspired techniques. Swarm optimization (SO) has been applied to address WSN issues such as optimal deployment, node localizatio n, clustering and data-aggregation. It can avoid netwo rk congestion and fast consumption of energy of indivi dual node. This paper outlines issues in WSNs, introduce s Swarm Based Intelligent approach and its suitabilit y for WSN applications.
