State of the Art on Assembled Steel Storage Racks

Steel storage racks are commonly used worldwide to store goods in warehouses.Built by cold-formed steel members,assembled steel storage racks are predominating in the market for the characters of easy-installing and flexible patterns.At the same time assembled steel storage racks represent complex and freestanding structures different from classic structures with characters,such as abnormal shape of cross-section,perforation,mechanical connector,limited lateral stiffness and lightness.There have been specific design methods abroad after many years' research.The main specifications recognize the importance of accurately determining the properties of individual components of steel storage racks through testing.Referring to relevant literature,this paper reviews the methodologies of designing members,testing connectors and the research work of global stability,and then points out the problems to be investigated further.
