An Effective Real-time Error Control Scheme for Video Codec

A novel error control scheme based on self-adaptive RFS(reference frame selection) and digital watermarking is proposed to improve the quality of video service. In the process of video coding,RF is adaptively selected according to the context of every intra-block with EC(error-concealment) features extracted. Simultaneously, every macroblock is allocated in macroblock pairs by improved FMO(flexible macroblock ordering). Those features are then embedded into the corresponding MB pairs by watermarking. When errors occur, the features are dispatched to conceal destructed blocks. Experimental results show that the proposed method could enhance the overall EC ability of corrupted video.
