Computed tomography indiagnosis andmanagement ofaneurysmofthevein ofGalen

Mostcases ofveinofGalenaneurysm havebeen diagnosed atnecropsy orbyarteriography. A presumptive diagnosis canbemadefromthepresence of curvilinear calcification on theskullfilm (Amacher andShillito, 1973), fromlumbar pneumoencephalography (Morris, 1971), orventriculography although thelastinvestigation maybe misleading (Hirano andTerry, 1958). Berger etal. (1976), Milhorat (1978), andWeisberg etal.(1978) state thatwithcomputed tomography ithasbecomepossible todemonstrate a massaboveand behind thethird ventricle butthatthedefinitive diagnosis ofaveinofGalenaneurysm ismadeby
