Power Performance Recovery of Natural Gas Engine Based on GT-Power

The 1-D simulation model of 4-cylinder spark ignition natural gas(NG) engine was built with GT-Power software.Compared with the test results,the simulation results had a good accordance,which verified the accuracy of model.Based on this,the turbocharging and inter-cooling system was matched with NG engine.The results show that the power performance of NG engine improves significantly after turbocharging.The maximum power and torque increase by 23% and 9% respectively,and the efficient gas consumption decreases significantly at medium and low speeds.With the optimization and calculation of ignition advanced angle,3D MAP of MBT angle,engine speed and air fuel ratio at the wide open throttle(WOT) is acquired.
