Chemical Pneumonia And Dermatitis Caused By Kerosene

Hydrocarbons cause poisoning in humans through ingestion and aspiration, 1-8 but usually not by inhalation. Inhalation of kerosene as a cause of pneumonitis is reported in animals.9,10 We present a case of pneumonia combined with contact dermatitis caused by kerosene inhalation as a consequence of an unusual use of this substance as folk medicine for upper respiratory tract infection.
