A hamilton-jacobi setup for the static output feedback stabilization of nonlinear systems

The (local) static output feedback stabilization problem for a class of nonlinear (affine) systems is discussed. A sufficient condition is es- tablished and a (partial) converse is worked out. This condition provides a counterpart to a well-known result of linear systems theory. The effective- ness of the developed theory is illustrated with a simple example.
