Packed-bed column bioreactor for production of enzyme

Abstract In solid-state fermentation using a packed-bed column bioreactor for the production of glucoamylase enzyme by Aspergillus niger (RRL isolate), maximum enzyme activity was attained when the column was packed with 0.35g substrate cm −3 space loading and allowed to ferment at 30 ± 1°C for 48h with 0.1 l min −1 aeration.
