THE FELT SENSE OF NATURAL ENVIRONMENTS

This presentation discusses the application offocusing, a method from experiential psychology, to the immedi ate awareness of feelings evoked by natural environ ments. Every environment evokes a unique feeling that changes as one moves from one kind of environment to another. These complex, nonverbal qualities resemble the "feft senses" that have been identified in the field of experiential psychotherapy. By paying attention to the subtle feft sense of a natural environment, we can acquire a clearer, first-hand awareness of the psycho logical importance of such environments.
