대구경 High-Power TBM을 적용한 해저터널설계

The 1 st subsea tunnel project in Korea, Boryung tunnel which is located in western Korea, South Chungcheong province between the famous beech Daecheon, Boryung city and Wonsan island as a part of the local road No.77 along the westernside coast. Subsea tunnels are pass beneath the sea where the geology is hidden by water. Normally, they are more affected by geological uncertainties than other tunnel projects because of limited geological information by the large amount of sea water. This paper summarize how these ambitional challenging project were planned to overcome the high risks below the seas. The contents of this paper are included into the field investigation methods, and mechanized tunnel design and excavation experiences around the world.
