The invention provides a keyboard action detection method and device. According to the embodiment, a keyboard image, acquired by at least two image acquiring devices, of a specified keyboard played by a player is obtained, then a playing parallax image is obtained according to the keyboard image, acquired by at least two image acquiring devices, of the specified keyboard played by the player, and detected key action of the specific keyboard can be obtained according to the playing parallax image and a pre-established reference parallax image of the specific keyboard. By reconstructing the stereo playing parallax image according to the planar keyboard image of the specific keyboard played by the player, the keyboard spatial state of the specific keyboard played by the player can be presented clearly, and therefore the purpose of detecting keyboard action of key type musical instruments such as piano is realized.
