Model of vanadium redox flow battery and its charge and discharge control

The characteristics of the vanadium redox flow battery were introduced,including the operating principle,the equivalent circuit and charge and discharge characteristics of the vanadium redox flow battery.Base on the control strategy of bi-directional DC/DC converter and the equivalent circuit of the vanadium redox flow battery,the charge and discharge characteristics of the vanadium redox flow battery were simulated by SIMULINK.The results show that the control strategy of bi-directional DC/DC converter of the vanadium redox flow battery is feasible,and the vanadium redox flow battery has more advantages than other energy storage battery.The vanadium redox flow battery is more suitable for large-scale electricity storage system,and a basis was made in this paper for the implication of the vanadium redox flow battery in large-scale PV system.
