Impact of integrated vibration-based maintenance on plant LCC : A case study

The biggest thread confronts maintaining high equipment effectiveness is; whether the improved manufacturing processes capable of producing quality products at a competitive cost. The effect of a new vibration-based maintenance concept, Total Quality Maintenance (TQMain), is introduced It aims at making intensive use of real-time data acquisition and analysis to detect causes behind product quality deviation and failures in machinery at an early stage and to allow control of these deviations to improve technical and economic of process effectiveness continuously. The effect of TQMain on machine's LCC and a company's economy is discussed. A case study revealing savings in maintenance cost, when a vibration-based policy is involved is presented
