Dynamics of marine structures: Methods of calculating the dynamic response of fixed structures subject to wave and current action

The design of civil engineering structures in the marine environment in order to estimate dynamic loads and any subsequent appreciable dynamic response is discussed with reference to their basic features. Calculations of the structural properties which affect dynamics, mass, damping and stiffiness are given, as well as calculations of wave forces and of the response of a wide range of structures. Wave climate, vortex-induced motion, structure-fatigue, and the use of physical models are also covered.
